The application for the Graduate Research Scholarship Grants at the University of Melbourne 2023 is now open to all interested and outstanding applicants.

The University of Melbourne Research Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship for international students. These scholarships are offered for masters and doctoral degrees. These grants cover full tuition, travel allowances, a living allowance of approximately $31,200 per year, and academic expenses.

Structured for international flexibility, Melbourne Model’ sends over 1300 students abroad each year on semester, year or short-term intensive programmes. PhD students can apply for research funding abroad, participate in and publish research, or engage with peers at major conferences.

  • 2 years for students pursuing a master’s research degree
  • Up to 3.5 years for students pursuing doctoral studies

The University of Melbourne Scholarship 2022 provides the recipient with the following benefits:

  • Full fee equalization for up to two years for students pursuing a Masters by Research degree, or up to four years for students pursuing a PhD degree.
  • Living Grant of $31,200 per year pro rata (2020 full-time tuition rate) for up to two years for students pursuing a Masters by Research degree or up to 3.5 years for students pursuing a Doctorate degree. The living allowance can be indexed annually and includes limited paid sick leave, maternity leave and parental leave.
  • Relocation Grant of $2000 for students relocating from states or territories other than Victoria or $3000 for students relocating from outside Australia.
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) individual membership for international students who require a student visa to study in Australia.

Fee-billing Scholarships

  • Full fee equalization for up to two years for students pursuing a Masters by Research degree, or up to four years for students pursuing a PhD degree.

If you are a new student and have applied for doctoral studies You will be automatically considered for the Graduate Research Scholarships by the application deadline for this course.

If you have accepted an offer for a graduate research course and deferred its start in order to be reconsidered for a scholarship, you must submit one Online application form until October 31st for a scholarship in the following year.

If you are currently enrolled in a graduate program for which you are seeking a scholarship, you must have a Online application form until October 31st for a scholarship in the following year.

To qualify for a University of Melbourne scholarship, the candidate must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Required language: English.
  • Eligible countries: All countries in the world.
  • I applied and hit the entry Prerequisites for a master’s or doctoral degree at the University of Melbourne or currently enrolled in a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne.
  • These scholarships are subject to Graduate Research Fellowship Terms and Conditions (as amended).
