The Institute for Humane Studies was founded in 1961 by Dr. FA “Baldy” Harper, a former economics professor at Cornell University.
The Institute for Humane Studies offers educational and campus programs for university students. They also offer mentoring and research grants for prospective professors and sponsor a collection of online videos. IHS was based in Menlo Park, California for many years but moved to Fairfax, Virginia in 1985 and became affiliated with George Mason University (GMU).
Selection criterion:
To be eligible, you must be employed full-time as a faculty member or postdoctoral fellow at a four-year degree-granting institution. Applicants resident at institutions in North America and the UK are preferred
